Nyamirambo Women's Center

Through its community-based tourism NWC aims to generate an income for the Center and to promote Rwandan’s culture and history. Visitors can choose from a selection of three cultural tours that provide an insight to daily-life in Rwanda and in particular Kigali including a local cooking class with Aminatha, NWC’s famous cook. Aminatha will show you how to prepare traditional dishes of Rwanda.

Paladar Venceremos

Chef Carlos Caula was born and raised in Havana, Cuba. He works as a consultant for restaurants in Kigali and offers private cooking classes. Before coming to Kigali, he was Head Chef at Carmelita restaurant in Seattle, Washington for three years, working with local and seasonal products from area farms. 

Chef Carlos is a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu London, receiving Le Grand Diplome Cordon Bleu in Cuisine and Patisserie in 2004. He has worked in top restaurants in Colombia, United States and the United Kingdom. His experience includes time spent at Harry Sasson in Bogota, Citronelle three Michelin star restaurant, under Chef David Deshaies and also three years as Executive Sous Chef at Restaurant Nora, the first certified organic restaurant in the U.S.. Carlos has a passion for farm to table cooking and sharing his passion for the art of cuisine with others to inspire their creativity.
