Keeping Fit in Kigali

We know that finding the time to fit in some good, heart-pumping exercise is hard to come by when you have kids. When you do get a few moments to yourself, you may not feel like spending them at a gym. Luckily, there are some great sport centres and exercise classes in Kigali that can guarantee you a good workout.

Do you know something that should be added to this list? Email us!

Amahoro Boxing Club

Recommended by one of our readers, the boxing classes at Amahoro Stadium are one of the best high-intensity workouts in town.  The classes are hosted outside at Amahoro Stadium on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30-8:00 pm and Saturdays from 10:30 to noon. The class usually meets inside the stadium in an alcove at one end of the track.

It starts with a warm-up jog, sprints, stairs, physicals, then five short rounds of boxing, and finally abs and stretching. It's an excellent class for people who enjoy high-intensity workouts or want to work on their abs!  There's also great camaraderie among the group, with a mix of men and women, making this a great break from your busy work and family routine.
